To strengthen the capacity of the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to reach the Millennium Development Goals
Expected Outcome 1
Strengthened capacity of governmental institutions to produce and analyze MDGs indicators and use them in the design and implementation of public policies that led to the fulfilment of the goals
Expected Outcome 2
Adoption by the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean of an extended set of MDGs indicators that are more suitable to their situation, in order to monitor the accomplishment of the MDGs; Better monitoring of the progress towards the accomplishment of the MDGs in the region through the production and compilation of information
Expected Outcome 3
Improved access to information and widespread knowledge about the MDGs and related issues; Technical assistance to national institutions to improve the quality of data and strengthen the national capacity to produce and use MDGs follow-up indicators in 10 selected countries of the region
