Brief Description
This project aims to increase capacity of governments in implementing the Barbados Programme of Action (BPOA) and the Mauritius Strategy for Further Implementation (MSI), as well as the SAMOA Pathway, by applying Vulnerability-Resilience Profile (VRP), an analytical framework for assessing and evaluating the progress of BPOA and MSI developed through the EU-funded project.
Objective and Expected Outcomes
Objective
To strengthen the capacity of selected small island developing States in monitoring progress of implementation of the MSI and developing appropriate and practical responses to reduce vulnerability
Expected Outcome 1
Increased capacity of governmental and non-governmental institutions at the national levels to collect and analyse data for key indicators measuring progress, including VRPs, towards the MSI and sustainable development
Expected Outcome 2
Enhanced capacity of Governments to apply the findings and analysis related to the monitoring of progress towards MSI in the formulation and implementation of national sustainable development strategies and plans, especially with regard to mitigating risks and reducing vulnerabilities
