The project will research and analyze STI policies that have been adopted by countries in the region, in three focus areas (measurement, investment and social enterprise / responsible business) who have developed STI capabilities by strengthening their innovation systems; develop effective conceptual frameworks and policy guidance, support the implementation of effective STI policy and; develop a framework to measure and evaluate the impact. These objectives will be delivered through the development of STI knowledge products, tools and; through capacity building activities such as training workshops. The project intends to support and promote the design and implementation of effective STI policies and strategies by the project target countries for strengthening their innovation systems to achieve inclusive and sustainable development. The project will also strengthen the capacity of target countries to understand what types of information are needed to monitor STI policies and the type of data required to formulate effective STI policies.
