The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development integrates the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in a unified and universally applicable framework, with closely interrelated goals and targets. The need for policy integration is at the core of the implementation and objectives of the Agenda. The review and follow-up of the implementation also requires an integrated vision at the conceptual level of policy making. This project aims to ensure that integrated implementation of the 2030 Agenda by participating countries will have a lasting impact in achieving the SDGs in a coherent and integrated manner. It aims to support the implementation of national strategies, by strengthening national capacities for policy integration, including through the sharing of lessons and experiences. The project will be implemented as part of DESA’s multidisciplinary capacity development work, and will include integrated advisory services addressing the analytical, statistical and institutional dimensions of policy coherence and coordination. The project’s activities will be carried out by DESA/OESC in coordination with the capacity development expertise of other divisions. Close collaboration will also be sought with the relevant regional commissions as well as UN Country Teams in the participating countries.
